
“Imran “Immy” Farukhi is the head of the New York office of Farukhi Law PLLC, and is an experienced attorney focused on transactions and counseling pertaining to the entertainment, music, film, television, advertising, fashion, sports, new media, technology, and manufacturing industries. He has worked with Grammy-nominated and legacy act musicians, as well as legal teams for Academy Award-winning films and commercial productions. His clients include film and TV production companies, writers/directors, on-screen talent, music producers/mixers, musicians, models, and advertising productions for prominent lifestyle and technology brands. As a natural extension of his practice, he has served as an executive producer on independent films, including Hideout (2021) and Goodbye, Petrushka (2022).
In 2021, he co-founded the innovative manufacturing startup, ThinkVariant Inc., where he serves as Chief Legal Officer. The company specializes in 3D printing and additive manufacturing process solutions, drawing upon his extensive experience representing musical instrument and audio technology manufacturers.
Prior to starting his own practice and forming Farukhi Law LLP, he was an attorney in the entertainment department of Fox Rothschild LLP, and with prominent boutique entertainment and intellectual property law firms throughout the New York City metro area.
Immy is also an Associate Professor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate entertainment law courses for students in the Television-Radio-Film program and the Bandier music industry program. He regularly speaks on cutting-edge entertainment business and technology matters, and his expertise has been solicited in interviews by media outlets including Rolling Stone and CNBC.
